There will be a make up date ...TBD.

Band shirts will also be available on Thursday from 4:30-6:30pm. Cost is $10 for white T-shirt and $20 for purple polo.

MUNCHNING FOR MUSIC

Hello, Band Families!

Welcome to band camp! To make this time even more enjoyable, your Munching for Music committee has set up a couple of fun events for you. In case you’re new to band, Munching for Music is a fundraising committee that all centers around food. Here are two things you will definitely want to plan on doing

Augie’s Chicken Dinner: August 14th, from 4-7pm.

Ice Cream Social: August 23rd, starting at 6pm.

*Both of these are pre-paid events.*

We have included the order forms for both of these events. Either print them or pick them up in the band room. The completed order forms should then be put in the white band box, located just inside the band room doors. Please read all of the attached information so you can join us for yummy eats that support our award-winning marching band!

Exciting News - For the SENIOR CLASS OF 2020 Band Banner Photos!

Hello Seniors & Senior Band Families!

We are excited to announce that NEW this year the Senior Band Class of 2020 will be having their pictures taken for Senior Band Banners! These Banners will be hung in our football stadium for all to see & enjoy & will be gifted to the Band Seniors at the end of the season. There is no cost to you. We are working with the same company that does our Senior Athletic Banners & we are looking forward to a seamless process.

Band Banner Photos will be taken on our regular Picture Day which is scheduled for Tuesday, August 13th.

We will send out more details as we get closer.

Marching Band Uniform Distribution

Will take place this week.  Please make sure your child makes arrangements to pick up his/her uniform during the set times. A make up date is TBD. The distribution will take place in the Hallway of the High School near room 310.

      Tuesday 7/30 Seniors  4:30pm to 6:00pm

      Tuesday 7/30 Juniors   6:00pm to 7:30pm  

      Wed. 7/31 Sophomores 4:30pm to 6:30pm

Summer Update

Hi Band Parents,

It is hard to believe but next week starts the 2019 BAND CAMP!  We hope everyone had a wonderful summer and is ready fora spectacular marching season.  Below are a few reminders for you as we head into the busiest time of the year.

Band Camp Is A Summer Activity

This has been an extremely hot summer and August is usually hotter than July.  Please, please, please make sure your band member takes the weather into account and stays hydrated.  Every year, a few kids forget their water and pay a painful price.

White Band T-shirts

We will be selling white band t-shirts and band polos ONE DAY next week.  More details will come out later in the week on the on the specific day and time after we work through volunteer availability.

The Band Boosters Needs Your Help

There are still a few committee chair positions open that we need some folks to fill, notably marching band uniforms, concert band uniforms, and car raffle.  Please consider stepping up and taking on one of these roles so the organization can continue to provide the level of support to these kids that we have become so well known for.  While all committee chair roles do take some work, none are overwhelming and there are always lots of folks willing to help.  If you are interested in one of these roles, or one of the others still open, please reach out to Kevin Sexton at sexton729@gmail.com.

Membership Is Now Open

The 2019-2020 Band Boosters Membership registration form is now available on the website.  We simplified the levels this year and have new designs for much of the Membership gear.  As always, you can send in your membership form and payment to the Boosters mailbox or your band member can drop it off in the white band box.  We will also be taking registration forms in person at Parent Preview Night (which is the deadline for inclusion in the first order of membership gear).  If you have any questions about Membership, please reach out to Debbie Sexton at sexton729@gmail.com or Chris Norwalk at cnorwalk72@gmail.com.

Cuyahoga County Fair Volunteers needed

Dear Band Boosters,

The North Royalton High School Band Boosters have been given an opportunity to staff the cattle gate for this year’s county fair. The county fair runs from Tuesday, August 6 until Sunday, August 11. The hours are Tuesday through Friday and Sunday from 11:00 am until 10:30 pm and Saturday 9:00 am until 10:30 pm. We have to have a minimum of two people at the gate at all times. A high school student is able to work at the gate if accompanied by an adult. No money is exchanged at the gate. The cattle gate is where vendors, RVs, and exhibitors enter and exit the fairgrounds in Berea.

We are interested to know if people prefer to have two shifts per day so they volunteer for six hours and seven on Saturday or if they prefer three shifts of four hours, 4.5 hours on Saturday.  Given that we lost one of the air show gates and we will not be hosting the OMEA concert band state adjudicated event, this opportunity can help us to make up some of those losses. I am reluctant to agree to staff the gate unless I am assured we can cover the event.

I need to get back to the fair representative by the beginning of next week or else we will lose this opportunity. Thank you for supporting your North Royalton High School Band.
