OMEA State Contest - We Need Your Help This Weekend!

Hello Band Families!

As you know, we are hosting the OMEA State Contest this weekend, April 28 -29. This is a FUNDRAISER for our Band Program!!!

We are a TEAM! We will only succeed if the entire team helps out with our event. The time slots are short and each job is EASY and FUN! You will get a chance to meet fellow band families, hear the other bands and represent our program with pride!

In order for this weekend to be a success, we need YOU! The following slots do not have any volunteers or maybe not enough volunteers to help us run this event.

2017 Band Awards Dinner

Band Families,

We are on the homestretch to the end of the school year and the Band Awards Banquet is fast approaching. Download the invitation and RSVP form. (The RSVP is the second page of the document.) RSVP’s are due back on May 1.

A check is needed to pay for everyone attending who is not a Senior Band Student. The cost is $11 per person. Seniors band members are free. Please put the RSVP and payment in an envelope and mark it, “Awards Banquet Night” and have your student drop it off in the white band box.

Even if you do not attend the dinner, everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend the Band Awards program which starts at 7:00pm. It is a great way to spend an enjoyable evening with family and friends.

OMEA State Contest Volunteers Needed

Band families,

Preparations are underway for the OMEA Northeast Region State Band Adjudicated Event - held right here at North Royalton High School. We are very excited that we are the only band program to have four concert bands participating at the state level for this region, and we are also excited that we are able to host this event right here at our own home school. (Schedules and itineraries can be found on the Band Website.)

However, there is a great deal of responsibility entrusted to us for hosting this event. We have each of the students volunteering to help with volunteer shifts, but there are certain shifts that can only be held by adults.

We are asking for a few more adult volunteers to please help us out the weekend of April 28 and 29. We have minimized the number of adult shifts required based on absolute need.

If you can volunteer even a few hours - it would be greatly appreciated - and the jobs are not difficult. Jobs range from making sure doors remained closed during a performance, to making sure the sightreading areas are closed to the public.

Raffle Fundraiser Update

The basket raffle Is only a few weeks away. We still have some tickets available (see attachment) so plan on ordering your tickets soon! Space is limited.

We are also in need of some donation items to help fill the baskets. If you have anything you think would add to the baskets below, let me know. I can come pick it up!

Raffle Fundraiser Wine Pull

This year's basket raffle will have a wine pull and we need donations! Sign up here to donate a bottle of wine or champagne of your choice.

To participate in the wine pull the day of the event you will need to purchase a ticket and then pick a random bottle of wine! All wine bottles will be wrapped (wrapped to hide the bottle and value) from a selection of expensive, medium range, and cheap wines.

You can drop your donation off on my porch at 12740 Pinebrook Dr or I can come pick them up.

NRMB Spring Easter Seals Event

Spring Easter Seals Update - Event date is April 28-29

Spring Has Sprung!

With only one week left until Easter, How well did you do with the 40 bags in 40 weeks challenge? It's ok, if you haven't started yet because honestly, I have just recently given up some of my winter clothes and soft goods (gotta love Cleveland weather!).

This is such a great event and an excellent fundraiser for the band! The timing is perfect for spring cleaning. Please join us! Collect your soft goods and bring them to State Band Contest on April 28-29 between Friday, 4-8:30 pm and Saturday, 9 am -1:30 pm. Since it was so successful at The holiday concerts, we will be parking the Easter Seals truck right outside the PAC again!

NRECEPTA Resale Event

WE ARE ALSO COLLECTING UNSOLD ITEMS FROM THE NRECPTA EVENT ON SATURDAY, APRIL 22 AND NEED 5-10 PEOPLE/STUDENTS TO COLLECT THESE GOODS between 11 and 2. It is also a great way to collect service hours, help the vendors, help Easter Seals and our band program! It is a win-win-win-win! Come join me!

EASTER SEALS IS ALSO a fundraiser within a fundraiser! Support the band by volunteering your services for State Band contest and bring your donated items to the Easter Seals truck to further support the band and an amazing cause! Click on the links to hop on the bandwagon!

OMEA State Contest

Hello Fellow Band Parents,

We are very proud to be sponsoring the OMEA States event in our school! As you know, our bands SWEPT the Westlake District Band Contest with SUPERIOR ratings. Let’s show our support and spirit and give our visiting bands a WARM welcome to NRHS!

State Band Contest is on Friday, April 28 (3:30-11:30 pm) and Saturday, April 29 (7:30-11:30 am). It takes roughly 100 volunteers to support this event! We only have 25% of the spots filled. It is another significant fundraiser for the Band Boosters and will be successful because of our parent volunteers.

All band students will be assigned a job by Mr. Vitale to help with hosting this event. Please consider joining us for a 3 hour (or more) position of your choice. It's a great way to be with friends, show your NORO pride and help out the band! The jobs are simple, and we can assure you that, due to the flexibility of the schedule, you will get to see your student perform.

We are also asking for help in obtaining donations from places you frequent. If asked, businesses are more often willing to give to frequent and favorite customers than just letters being mailed out. Check with your favorite restaurants, stores, salons, etc. to see if they are willing to donate to help support our band. We have attached a donation request letter and a donation form that you can take with you.
