Next Band Booster Meeting - You Are Invited!

Hello Band Families,

Please join us for our next Booster meeting this Monday at 7 pm in the NRHS Media Center. We will get you updated on all the Spring Band events, including OMEA State Contest, the Band Awards Banquet, Band-A-Rama, and our Annual Basket Raffle Fundraiser. You can even reserve your spot at the 3-Spot for this fun-filled evening that benefits our Band Program! There will be plenty of food and drink, sideboards, 50/50 raffle, and fantastic baskets filled with goodies of all kinds. It's always a fun evening out and a great way to support our Bands. OMEA State Contest Volunteers Needed!

Thank you to everyone who has volunteered for States! WE NEED MORE HELP!!!! PLEASE consider helping us out! We have many opportunities for volunteering: Concessions, Sight Reading Door Monitors, Stage Crew/Gym & PAC Door Monitors, Program Sales, Hospitality, and Parking.

Easter Seals

The Band Boosters will be partnering once again with Easter Seals! Our event will be running the SAME DAYS as State Contest. Since it was so successful, we will be parking the Easter Seals truck right outside the PAC. We do need volunteers to work the truck during the event. Please consider helping us out with this event! MAY 6 – Basket Raffle

Our annual Basket Raffle event will be MAY 6th and 3Spot in North Royalton. The 3Spot will be giving us the MAIN DINING room for our event this year! The ticket order form has gone out! Please send your ticket reservation to Becky Humes (address on ticket order form) or deposit in the white band box! Looking forward to a warm, spring event.

2017 Scholarships

Hello Band Families,

It's time again for Seniors to apply for local Scholarships. The deadline for Scholarship applications is this Friday, January 27th. If your senior has not yet applied, they can log into their NRAPPS account to find all the information.

We are looking for 3 Freshman, Sophomore or Junior parents to read through the essays and select from the applications submitted. Please reply to this email or call Regina Atkinson at (440)227-1687 if you are interested in helping. This is an interesting and easy way to help out and hear directly from our Band Seniors what the program has meant to them. Thank you as always for your support!

Help Support the Bond Issue

Hi Band Families,

The Committee for North Royalton Schools Future needs your help! They are looking for at least 150 volunteers to go Door-to-door anytime from Oct. 5th-11th to talk with community members about the bond. They are targeting homes with registered voters who are supportive of the bond. You can go anytime during the week, whatever works for your schedule. The minimum time commitment is 2 hours. They would like to have sign ups completed by Sept. 26th. Please consider volunteering your time on this very important issue.

North Royalton Stadium Foundation Car Raffle

Marching Band sales have just two weeks left to sell raffle tickets! Please return your sold ticket stubs and money to the white band box by Friday, September 30th. If you have not sold them by then, return them in the original ticket envelope. The $20.00 cost of any tickets not returned will be charged to you.

A word document that you can personalize to help sell to family and friends is attached to this newsletter. Please consider sending out an email or posting your version to social media today! The more tickets you sell, the more money we have for band and the greater your chances of winning $500.00!

Our annual fruit sale is just about to begin! This sale is a huge fundraiser for our band and will be a great success with everyone participating. This year we are using a new supplier, Pee Jays Fresh Fruit. We will be offering grapefruit, tangelos, navel oranges from California, pears, pineapples and some mixed assortments. Yummy stuff! The big kickoff to our sale will be our Blitz Weekend, September 10th & 11th. This is the weekend when our bandos hit the streets to offer our fantastic selection of fruit to the local communities. All students will sell door-to-door in groups of two or three at some point during that weekend. There is an ACT test the morning of the 10th, so please keep that in mind when picking a time to help with this fundraiser. We ask that each group go out for at least two hours. Please remind your children that they will be representing the North Royalton High School Marching Band, so we ask them to be polite and appreciative. They are to wear some kind of band shirt, such as the purple polo or white band t-shirt. This Wednesday, September 7th, after the 6-9 practice, all groups will sign out a blitz packet to be used for the door-to-door sale. One person from each group will be considered the captain and be responsible for getting the entire envelope, including the order form and money, returned to school the following Monday, September 12th. We will collect the envelopes and treat the kids to pizza for all of their hard work! Once your child brings home a blitz packet, please look inside to get familiar with the contents and read the sheet that contains instructions and reminders. This sheet will also be sent in an email as a reminder for everyone. Because packets will be distributed after 6-9 practice, your child may be a few minutes later leaving rehearsal this Wednesday.

Please encourage your bando to be enthusiastic during the door-to-door sales blitz! Our band has been selling fruit and doing other fundraisers for years with a "pay-it-forward" attitude. Others gave of their time so that our current students would benefit, so we all need to do the same for those who will follow in future years.

Festival of the Bands - Volunteers Needed

North Royalton Band Festival is a great opportunity for our band and community to shine! This will be the first performance of the North Royalton High School Marching Band 2016 Contest Show: The Elements! We will host bands from around Northeast Ohio as they showcase their talent. Many hands are needed for an enjoyable evening of music and marching. Volunteer opportunities are easy and fun! Please sign-up to assist with one of our final fundraisers of the season.
