Hello, Band Families!
We hope you are enjoying marching season so far! We want to let you know about a big fundraiser that will be starting this weekend - the annual fruit sale! The proceeds from this sale go into the general band fund. The company we use for this fundraiser is Florida Indian River Groves, located in Vero Beach, Florida. We will be selling navel oranges, grapefruits, tangelos, apples and a few combination packages. Here is some information for you:
To kick off this fundraiser our kids will have a blitz weekend on September 13th and 14th when students will be out in teams and selling door to door. The packets for the blitz weekend will be signed out after late band practice this Wednesday, September 10th. Your child may take longer getting out to the car or getting home that night; hopefully no more than an extra 20 minutes or so. If possible, they are to go out selling Saturday morning, but if there is a conflict they can pick another time during the weekend. It is mandatory that everyone participate, and it has been listed on the band calendar since spring.
- Everyone is to wear the band purple polo shirt and either khakis or shorts.
- Each team will be picking streets where they want to sell. They are to sell for two hours. If they finish the streets they picked then they can move on to other streets.
- All of the orders and money that is collected is to be brought back to school that Monday, September 15th, and turned in to the white band box. The kids will be treated to a pizza, pop and dessert meal that day to thank them for pounding the pavement over the weekend. They will either eat after extended practice or their monitored practice. The team envelope needs to be turned in for that team to enjoy pizza.
- The kids will get a reminder sheet about the blitz weekend after the football game this Friday night.
Wednesday of next week the kids will bring home a new fruit packet so they can continue selling fruit to family and friends. The last day to turn in orders and money will be October 17th. Details will be included with that packet.

This is just a reminder that the last day to order Contest Hoodies or join Boosters at the Grand Staff Level is this Wednesday (September 10). Because we order the exact number from the silk screener, late orders cannot be accepted and there will not be any extra for sale later. If you want a contest hoodie please make sure to order before Wednesday. The membership and contest hoodie order forms are attached if you still need one. Come join us tomorrow evening (Friday) before the game at The 3 Spot for our 1st pregame gathering! This event will give you the opportunity to mingle with old friends, meet some new friends, win some money, order/pick-up buttons, buy your spirit wear, buy the winning ticket for the 50/50 drawing at the game (winner must be present at the football game), and become a member of the Band Booster organization! We will also sell one side board for more opportunities to win a little extra spending money! A limited menu will be offered to be sure we have time to eat before the game. Festivities begin at 4:30 but join us when you are able! We will start heading over to the game at approximately 6:15 and will find a spot in the bleachers that fits our spirited group! If you can't join us at the 3 Spot, please join us in the bleachers. Just look for the "Sea of Purple!"

Welcome to another football season! We are in need of approximately 5 more people for each home game to help with selling tickets. It's a fun job and the commitment is only until right before halftime during home games.
Details below include a specific job description...
We meet at the Stadium entrance by the board office at 6:00. Sign in at the gate. You don’t have to pay to enter the game, so don’t buy a ticket. We have a table and chairs right inside that gate to the left. Selling takes place from 6:30 until shortly before the half time. We usually stop selling when the second quarter has 3 minutes left on the clock. You will be done in plenty of time to watch the band preform. If you have never done this before, don’t worry they are very easy to sell! We need a minimum of 10 people selling to do a good job!
If you have any questions please call me at 216-407-5625. Brenda Calovini is the co-chair for the raffle and she will also be there every game so please look for both of us!

Market Day orders are due by this Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11:00 pm at www.marketday.com.
Pick up is Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Please note the time change for pick up!

Dear Band Families:
We need your help! We still have 30 spots to fill at the Cleveland Airshow (August 30-September 1). Most of the open spots are on Monday, 9/1, but we have a few on Saturday and Sunday as well. If we cannot fill these spots we will lose some of the fundraising money for this year and we could possibly lose this fundraiser for next year. Please make time in your schedule to fill these spots. Volunteers must be at least 15 years old or be an incoming freshman. Volunteers may be other family members or friends!
