Volunteers Needed for Marching Band Concert

Dear Band Families,

We only have a few days before the Marching Band Concert on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. After the concert the band members and their families will enjoy bakery and beverages. Obviously we need a few volunteers to help make sure this event goes smoothly.

Thank you to everyone that has already responded to our request for help! We do need of a few more volunteers to ensure this event goes well, please view the Signup Genius link and if you could help out it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Helen Kelly Hospitality Committee

Bakery for Marching Band Concert

Dear Sophomore Band Families:

Just a friendly reminder. We are asking all Sophomore Band Families to bring store bought desserts with NO peanuts to the Marching Band Concert on November 4th. After the concert we are hoping all the band members and their families will enjoy bakery and beverages, but CURRENTLY LESS THAN HALF THE SOPHOMORE BAND FAMILIES HAVE SIGNED UP TO DONATE and there will not be enough bakery for everyone to enjoy!

Please sign up for a specific dessert here.

Please send your dessert with your band student and have them drop it off on November 4th in Cafeteria I (next to PAC) before they go to practice. Please put your last name on the dessert. NO dessert should be dropped off in the band room. Someone will be in Cafeteria I to take the dessert.

If you have any questions please contact Helen Kelly at alandhelenkelly@cox.net or (440) 746-9048.

Thanks,

Band Booster News - Halloween Candy, Booster Meeting, States, Concert and More

Hi Everyone,

It will be nice to have a weekend off from contest. I hope all the kids have an opportunity to enjoy it. The whole marching band is working so hard! If you haven't hugged your bando lately, give them a hug in support of all their efforts. No other organization offers quite the same experiences as marching band.

Home Game

This Friday will be the last home game of the season. Come check out the progress the group has made in the past week. It truly is incredible!

Halloween Candy

We have received a great response to our request for candy for the bandos this Halloween. Thank you to everyone who signed up. Don’t forget to have your bando drop the candy off by Monday. It's also not too late to sign up. If you are interested sign up here.

Band Booster Meeting

Our next booster meeting will be held on Monday, Oct. 26, in the Media Center at 7 pm.

States

We have been given an 8:00 pm time slot on Oct. 31 in Columbus. Mr. Vitale has the details available on the Director’s Notes page. Please make note of it. This is the latest we have played at STATES in my 4 years, which prevents us from making our traditional stop at Polaris in Columbus and has us arriving home after midnight. Please plan accordingly.

Marching Band Concert

This event, held on Nov. 4 in the gym at 7:00 pm, will mark the end of our 2015 season. This is always a fun (and warm) opportunity to hear our favorite music of the entire football/contest season. We hope to see you there!

Fruit Sale Has Ended

Thank you to all that sold fruit! As soon as we know when the fruit will be harvested and sent to Ohio we will firm up the pick up date. It is usually in early December.

See you at our upcoming events!

Band Booster News

Hi Everyone,

An exceptional job was done by our Bandos last night! These kids really raised the bar this week. The improvement was very noticeable in every area. We were at Norton's new stadium last night. The weather was excellent. But it was such a shame their new stadium had so little seating. It makes us appreciate our facility so much more. We couldn't sit together to do our ROYALTON cheer either. However, on the positive, it was a very nice field for the kids to march on and the Norton Boosters were very gracious hosts!

Now to the awards...There were some pretty high powered bands at this contest. It was nice to see our band still come away with several well-deserved awards!

  • Best Auxiliary in AA
  • Best Auxiliary overall
  • (I'd like to add that these ladies are doing an exceptional job this year. Wow, they truly deserved these awards!)
  • Best General Effect in AA
  • Best General Effect overall
  • 1st place in AA
  • Grand Champions
  • And of course, received a Superior Rating! The winning streak continues. Congratulations kids!

It was also nice to see so many alumni last night! We not only have a great band, but we also have a Great Band community. This is what helps perpetuate this amazing tradition we are all a part of. Awesome!

Senior Night

This Friday is Senior Band Parent Night. Please read the past emails regarding parent responsibilities for help with the Senior dinner before the game. Also, underclassman will be given pizza after practice and before the game. Visit the directors website for specific details regarding this week and plan accordingly. Report time is at 4:00 pm AND the band will perform the contest show post game as well.

Fruit Sale

This is the final week for the fruit drive. Please be sure to get your orders into the white band box by next Saturday. If you need more order forms, they are located in the band room or on our website. If you have any questions contact Susie Perez at 440-877-1299/susielbp@juno.com or Karen Svoboda at 440-213-6414/svo@wideopenwest.com

Reminder - This is our last major fundraiser for the year. Our potential profit is significant. Please do your part and sell fruit. We have met or exceeded every fundraiser so far. Let's see this one through to the end as well!

Concessions

With senior band night coming up this week Friday, we are in need of more volunteers than usual to help with concessions. (14 to be exact). If you are available, please contact Dawn Rembowski at 216-990-0271 or email her at dawnrembowski@att.net

Perkins Contest

This week's competition takes us to Sandusky Perkins for our final regional performance. The schedule is already posted on the directors site. This will be a very good show with many quality bands performing. Come join us to cheer our Bandos on!

Thanks for all you do! See you next weekend.
